DC Shopian visits Keegam; takes stock of encroachments

SHOPIAN: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya today warned of strict action against those involved in encroachments of state and Kahcharai land in the district.

While inspecting various areas of Haji Check Keegam, the DC said that anti-encroachment drives are going on in the district and encroached land is being retrieved. He said that strict action will be initiated against the persons who have taken advantage of the lockdown and encroached upon the state land.

The DC directed the Revenue Officers to identify the encroachments made at various places in the district and retrieve the same using all resources. He also directed them to intensify the anti-encroachment drive across the district and strictly adhere to the directions issued by the Government in this regard.

He stressed upon the need for demolishing every kind of encroachment in rural as well as urban areas of the district and asked them to retrieve State and Kahcharai land from the encroachers.

The DC directed Tehsildar Keegam to keep vigil on the pace of developmental works going on in their respective jurisdictions and also check the quality of material being used in roads and buildings

The DC was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Shopian, Mushtaq Ahmed Simnani; Assistant Commissioner, Revenue, Shahbaz Ahmed Bodha; Tehsildar, Keegam and other officers.
