After Prime Minister Narendra Modi truncated his Saudi Arabia visit in view of the dastardly terror attack in Kashmir, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has also cut short her ongoing US and Peru visits and will return home tonight.

Top government sources said Sitharaman has embarked on a flight from US and will land in Delhi later tonight.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister is expected to chair a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security sometime this evening. The exact time of the meeting is not yet known.

Sources said ahead of the CCS meet, Defence minister Rajnath Singh has held discussions with National Security Adviser Ajit Doval and Indian Air Force chief Air Chief Marshal AP Singh along with other officials. The meeting discussed all issues related to the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir.

In the CCS meet, India will calibrate its response to the attack that killed 26 tourists. Terrorists dressed in Army fatigues asked the names and faith of victims with some eye witnesses also speaking of terrorists lining up victims, asking them to recite Islamic verses and killing then when they couldn’t.
