DDC Chairman distributes Rs 13 Lakh compensation among NOKs of Road Accident Victims at Doda

DODA: In a significant public welfare act, District Development Council (DDC) Chairman Doda Dhananter Singh Kotwal today gave away compensation cheques worth Rs 13 Lakh to the Next of the Kin (NoK) of road accident victims.

The financial support has been provided under the J&K Road Accident Victim Fund. The distribution took place in the office chamber of   Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh in the presence of Vice Chairperson DDC Sangeeta Rani, ARTO Tasleem Wani  and other concerned officials.

A total of Rs 1 lakh each was given to the legal heirs of 13 deceased road accident victims. The initiative reflects the government’s commitment to provide timely financial assistance to families affected by the tragic road mishaps and to help ease their hardships in the aftermath of losing a loved one. The support aims not only to offer immediate relief but also to acknowledge the loss and suffering endured by the victims’ families.

The families who received the compensation cheques included Mohammad Yaseen (Pora Paine Bhalessa), Sanjeet Bharti (Kandote), Mohammad Yaqoob (Trithlu Gandoh), Abdul Rashid Butt (Dhara), Ravinder Singh Manhas (Pernote Thathri), Purba Devi and Beli Ram (Indralla Thathri), Mukhtiyar Ahmed, Riyaz Ahmed Butt, Nurain Fatima, Mohd Rafi (all from Phagsoo), Iyrina Begum (Gunti Thathri), and Ilham Fatima (Phagsoo).

The District Administration Doda reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that relief reaches all eligible beneficiaries in a prompt and transparent manner. The initiative is part of the broader vision to safeguard and support citizens, especially in times of personal and family tragedies caused by road accidents.
