NEW DELHI: Amid above-normal day temperatures in Punjab over the past 24 hours, the weather department has predicted a possible wet spell in the region over the next two days.
According to a bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on February 9, a western disturbance forming as a cyclonic circulation in the lower and middle tropospheric levels over northern Afghanistan is expected to bring isolated to scattered light rain and snowfall to the western Himalayan region until February 11.
In Punjab, Adampur recorded the lowest temperature at 5.3°C, while Bathinda saw the highest at 25.6°C. The IMD classified minimum temperatures in the state as normal, with dry weather prevailing.
A rise of 2-3°C in minimum temperatures is expected over the next three days, with no significant changes afterwards. The weather is likely to remain dry, though mist or shallow fog may occur in some areas, the IMD added.
