DC Kishtwar hands over Key of Tractor to HADP Beneficiary

KISHTWAR: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar, Rajesh Kumar Shavan today handed over keys of Tractor to a farmer Abdul Salam Wani from the far-flung area of Bhatta, Warwan of Sub Division Marwah provided to him under the Farm Mechanization and Automation Scheme of the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) for the year 2024-25.

The farmer was provided a 50% subsidy, with a maximum limit of ₹5 lakh, to facilitate modern farming practices in remote areas.

The DC interacted with the beneficiary, gathering insights on how the tractor will be utilized to improve agricultural productivity in the region. Last month a tractor was provided to a Farmer from Haynan Marwah under the same scheme.

The Agriculture Department is extending subsidies ranging from 50% to 90% under various HADP initiatives to support farmers across the district.

The DC urged all farmers of the District to take advantage of the scheme to promote farm mechanization, which will enhance agricultural efficiency, reduce labour efforts, and improve crop production and productivity in an economical and time-effective manner.

The event was attended by Chief Agriculture Officer (CAO) Kishtwar, Amjad Hussain Malik, Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer (SDAO) Marwah, Manzoor Ahmed Zargar, and Subject Matter Specialist (SMS) Paddar, Jatinder Singh.
