DC Baramulla conducts spot visit to DPL, reviews final arrangements for Republic Day celebrations

BARAMULLA: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, today conducted an on-spot visit to the District Police Lines (DPL) Baramulla, the venue for the main function of the 26th January Republic Day celebrations.

The DC reviewed the final preparations and expressed satisfaction, noting that almost all arrangements are in place for the grand event.

During the visit, the DC inspected the venue and interacted with officers from various departments. He reviewed critical aspects such as security arrangements, stage setup, seating plans, sound systems and other logistical requirements. He passed several directions to the concerned officers to fine-tune the preparations and address minor gaps, ensuring a seamless event.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC highlighted a new initiative for this year’s celebrations, stating, “For the first time, we are ensuring the dissemination of information regarding all government welfare schemes among the locals during the Republic Day celebrations. This effort aims to raise awareness and encourage people to take advantage of various developmental and welfare programs.”

He further said that the Republic Day celebrations symbolize our national pride and unity. “It is heartening to see that almost all arrangements are in place. I urge all officers to remain vigilant and coordinated to ensure the event’s successful execution,” he added.

The DC also instructed officers to ensure cleanliness, uninterrupted power supply, proper traffic management, and medical facilities at the venue. He emphasized the need for flawless execution of the cultural programs and parades, which are key highlights of the event.

The Republic Day function at DPL will feature cultural performances, parades, and the ceremonial hoisting of the national flag. The administration, with its meticulous planning and innovative approach, is set to make the celebrations a memorable occasion for all attendees.
