Mission Director HADP inspects Government Fruit Plant Nursery Maralia

JAMMU: Mission Director HADP (Holistic Agriculture Development Programme) Rahul Yadav today visited to Government Fruit Plant Nursery Maralia Jammu to inspect the  implementation of different components of project P-21 of HADP.  He was accompanied Director Horticulture Jammu C. L Sharma.

During the visit, the Mission Director inaugurated Mother block of Dragon fruit in presence. Dragon fruit is an exotic fruit plant, established in an area of 10 Kanalsat Maralia nursery during the current year under the HADP component “Production of Designer Plants.”

The Mission Director laid emphasis on multiplication of dragon fruit plants through stem cutting and further establishment of new projects in the farmers field as it a very profitable crop. Dragon fruit is high in demand in both domestic and international markets due to its high nutritional values. He also inspected under construction Geo-Tank and Mother blocks of different fruit plants viz: Litchi, Mango, Citrus etc.

Interacting with the officers in the nursery, he laid emphasis on effective implementation of HADP projects. He impressed upon them to put in extra efforts to reach to every farmer to ensure implementation of the HADP interventions on the ground.

Earlier, Director Horticulture briefed the Mission Director about the developmental works going on in the nursery for its holistic development. He informed that the nursery is producing quality true to type fruit Plants of Mango, Guava, Litchi, Citrus etc. for farming community.

Mission Director was accompanied by Chief Horticulture Officer Jammu Rakesh Kotwal, DL SMS Sh. Sandeep Gupta, HDO Nazran Khan and other officers of the department.
