DC Udhampur convenes public outreach camp at Panchayat Ghar Rehmbal

 Listens to people’s issues, assures quality redressal of grievances

UDHAMPUR: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Saloni Rai along with the team of District officers convened a public outreach cum grievances redressal camp at Panchayat Ghar Rehmbal Lower- 1 as part of the Weekly Block Diwas initiative.

DDC member, Puran Chand; DDC member Tikri, Ashu Sharma; Additional District Development Commissioner Rajinder Singh; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Dr Umesh Shan; Assistant Commissioner Development, Dr Ranjeet Singh Kotwal, former PRI members and local residents participated in the programme and  raised several pressing issues.

The demanded speeding up of works under the Jal Jeevan Mission, dismantling of the old building of GMS  Garhi and construction of a library at the site post-dismantling. The locals further demanded adequate  teaching staff at local Government Middle School and the need to upgrade the Primary Health Centre Garhi into a 24×7 emergency hospital, upgradation of  Flata Grid Station to a 10 MVA capacity, repair of solar lights,  filling of potholes in Panchayat Jib and halting the waste material processing project in Rehmbal, which was causing difficulties for locals. They also sought strict measures to combat drug abuse in the area,

The DC gave a patient hearing to the demands and problems of the people and directed the concerned officers to take necessary action under norms for their early redressal.

While addressing the public, the DC urged all the officers to visit people’s doorsteps and provide them with all the  basic facilities. She reiterated that the main objective of holding the public outreach camps was to redress the genuine problems of the people within the stipulated time frame. She also took the opportunity to sensitize the public about the benefits of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana and the JK Samadhan Portal, appealing citizens to register on both platforms to reap the benefits of these initiatives.
