DDC Chairman inaugurates High-Tech Poly House, Apple Mother Block in Bhaderwah

BHADERWAH: In a significant step toward modernizing horticulture practices in the region, District Development Council (DDC) Chairman Dhananter Singh Kotwal, along with Vice Chairperson Sangeeta Rani, inaugurated a high-tech poly house at the Modern Orchid-cum-Nursery in Bhaderwah today.

The event was also graced by the presence of Director Horticulture C.L. Sharma and Joint Director Vikas Anand.

In addition to the poly house, an apple mother block was inaugurated at the same location, marking another milestone in improving apple cultivation methods in the region.

As part of the ceremony, modified high-density apple plants were planted to highlight the adoption of advanced farming technologies.

While speaking on the occasion, DDC Chairman emphasized the importance of adopting innovative horticulture techniques to increase productivity and boost the local economy. “Modernizing agriculture and horticulture is essential for ensuring sustainable development in the region. The establishment of a high-tech poly house and high-density apple plants will open new avenues for farmers and provide them with opportunities to enhance their income,” he said.

Vice Chairperson said that such initiatives will make Bhaderwah a hub for modern horticulture. Director C.L. Sharma and Joint Director Vikas Anand also shared their insights, highlighting the government’s commitment to promoting advanced horticulture infrastructure in rural areas.

The newly inaugurated facilities are expected to play a pivotal role in promoting advanced cultivation techniques, ensuring higher yields, and enabling the production of export-quality fruits. Local farmers and horticulture enthusiasts present at the event expressed hope and excitement about the future opportunities the new initiatives will bring to the area.
