Satish Sharma inaugurates series of development works in Chhamb constituency

Reiterates government’s commitment for equitable development of all regions

JAMMU: Minister for Transport, FCS&CA, Youth Services and Sports, Information Technology Science and Technology, Satish Sharma, today conducted an extensive tour of Chhamb constituency where he inaugurated series of development works.

The works included widening of road from Khuga Chowk to Government Ayurvedic Medical College Akhnoor, foundation stone of Tube Well at Barui, construction of link road to Dhanna Kufi at Bala Maira Mandrian (900 metre), construction of link road from Government Middle School to SC Mohalla upto Sub Centre at Godhan Maira Mandrian (700 metre) and Blacktopping of road from GMS to Godhan.

While inaugurating the development works, the Minister said that roads are very crucial for connectivity and accessibility and plays a pivotal role in socio-economic development of the area.

Satish Sharma asserted that many development works are in pipeline which are very important for the development of the region and substantially beneficial for the people.

The Minister stressed that equitable development of all the regions including all basic facilities to the people is utmost priority of the government.

He emphasized that the Jammu & Kashmir will see a new are of development  under the visionary leadership of CM Omar Abdullah, as the government is putting all out efforts to provide basic amenities to people at their doorsteps.

While laying foundation stone of Tube Well, the Minister said that it was a long pending demand of residents of Barui which on completion will resolve the issue of water scarcity in the village and adjoining areas.

The Minister also instructed the officers of concerned department to ensure the quality of works and complete them in stipulated time frame.

Satish Sharma also interacted with local residents and enquired about their issues/grievances. The Minister assured that all their issues will be addressed and genuine demands would be fulfilled in phased manner.
