DQAC reviews implementation of healthcare initiatives in Jammu District

JAMMU: The District Quality Assurance Committee (DQAC) Jammu met here today to review healthcare services in the District.

Chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner Shishir Gupta, the meeting was attended by Chief Medical Officer Dr Harbaksh Singh, Deputy CMO Dr Arti Nayyer, besides senior medical professionals, including specialists in gynaecology, anaesthesia and surgery, along with representatives from the National Health Mission.

Discussions centered on pivotal healthcare priorities, including strengthening family planning services and promoting awareness for Non-Scalpel Vasectomy (NSV) during the forthcoming NSV Fortnight.

The Committee reviewed the progress of laparoscopic sterilisation cases and analysed maternal and infant mortality data to address healthcare gaps. Efforts to achieve National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) certification for various healthcare facilities were also highlighted. Additionally, preparations for LaQshya certification of Community Health Centres, aimed at improving maternal healthcare services, were assessed.

The meeting underscored the importance of collaborative efforts among healthcare stakeholders to enhance service delivery and ensure public welfare.
