KATHUA: Deputy Commissioner Kathua Dr Rakesh Minhas today chaired a meeting to review pace of progress on the ongoing Water Supply Schemes (WSS) under AMRUT 2.0 in twin Municipal areas of Lakhanpur and Parole.
XEN PHE Kathua Girdhari Lal Gupta, EO MC Lakhanpur and Parole Prithvi Raj Sangra, AEE PHE, Contractors and other concerned were also present.
The DC was informed that the under AMRUT 2.0, One tubewell and Two Over Head Tanks (50,000 Gallon Capacity) will be constructed including replacement of old with new pipes. The Rs 3.96 Cr worth Water Supply Scheme once completed will provide Water Supply to seven municipal wards of Lakhanpur benefiting 4300 souls.
Similarly in MC Parole, Two Tubewells and Three Over Head Tanks (50,000 Gallon Capacity) will be constructed. The Water Supply Schemes worth Rs 10.98 Cr will cater drinking water needs of the population of over 13000 residents spread across 13 wards.
As informed by XEN PHE, setting up of new machinery and electric sub stations for commissioning these water supply schemes is also provisioned under the project.
The DC called upon the executing agency to strictly adhere to all the guidelines of the schemes, further emphasized for maintaining quality and timely completion of works to ensure improved drinking water facilities to the people in the specified quality and quantity, envisaged under the scheme.
