Tribal Festival to start from November 15 at Keller

SHOPIAN: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar today briefed the media on Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyaan (DAJGUA), re-christened scheme for tribal welfare and development.

The Deputy Commissioner briefed the media about the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyaan (DAJGUA) aimed to target saturation of schemes and development outcomes across 25 Interventions for tribal development and welfare. The DC talked about initiatives being taken for hostel upgradation, tribal entrepreneurship, establishment of Eklavya Model Residential School and other tribal welfare issues.He specially mentioned new initiatives to be taken in 13 tribal dominated village of the district.

He also asked the media to participate tomorrow for generating extensive IEC Campaigns in the district so that more and more people are able to register for the scheme. He vociferously applied people to come forward and register for these schemes at Camps being conducted in the tribal villages starting from inaugural camp at Keller on November 15. The campaign shall start from 15 November to 26 November of this month where departments will be targeting population for scheme saturation and tribal development.

The press briefing was coordinated by the Department of Information and Public Relations, Shopian and was attended by numerous media persons belonging to national and local media organisations. DIO Shopian, Showkat Hussain Ganie was also present on the occasion.
