Srinagar Admin committed to foster vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem and advancing economic development to empower youth: Dr Bilal
SRINAGAR: The Deputy Commissioner(DC) Srinagar, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat inaugurated Launch and Startup Showcase here at Banquet Hall.
The event was organised by District Administration Srinagar in collaboration with the District Employment and Counseling Centre (DE&CC) Srinagar and RSETI Srinagar aimed at empowering young entrepreneurs and supporting career growth initiatives for local youth brought together aspiring entrepreneurs, key officials, and stakeholders to explore opportunities provided through various Government schemes and initiatives.
Addressing the event, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the Administration’s commitment to create an enabling environment for youth-led growth and entrepreneurship.
The DC emphasized the importance of Government-supported programs that provide financial assistance, skill development, and mentoring for young talent. “Empowering our youth through innovative and sustainable initiatives is essential for our District’s socio-economic progress,” he stated.
The DC added that the Career Launch and Startup Showcase reaffirmed the commitment of the District Administration Srinagar and DE&CC to fostering a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem, empowering youth, and advancing economic development across the District.
During the event, the Officers shared insights on about the Departments role in facilitating youth entrepreneurship, employment, and career opportunities across Srinagar.
Several young achievers/successful beneficiaries who have benefited from these Schemes also shared their success stories, inspiring the audience with their journeys and achievements. Their experiences underscored the potential of government programs to empower youth and stimulate local economic growth.
Participants received detailed information about key schemes such as Mission Youth, the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), and the Rural Employment Generation Programme (REGP). These programs offer pathways for self-employment, financial aid, and training, designed to help young entrepreneurs bring their business ideas to fruition. 106 candidates registered on-site for various self-employment schemes, eager to take advantage of these initiatives to launch their entrepreneurial ventures.
Besides, Chief Planning Officer, Fayaz Ahmad, General Manager DIC, Hameeda Akhtar, Deputy Director of Employment, Dr Sheeba and Director RSETI, Afroza Fayaz, the event was attended by District Officers from the Jammu & Kashmir Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) and Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) and other concerned.
