DC celebrates Diwali with students, staff of GMC Rajouri

RAJOURI: In a heartfelt celebration, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma joined the staff and students of Government Medical College Rajouri to mark the joyous occasion of Diwali. 

DC Sharma’s interactions with students and staff, many of whom are celebrating away from their families, brought a sense of togetherness and support to the GMC Rajouri community, embodying Diwali’s spirit of unity and connection.

DC extended Diwali wishes to all present and presented sweets, adding a traditional touch to the festivities. Addressing the students and staff, DC encouraged those celebrating the Festival away from home, recognizing the sacrifices many make in their pursuit of medical education and service. He commended their dedication and commitment, assuring them of the community’s appreciation and the district administration’s unwavering support during this festive time.

The celebrations were further enriched by cultural performances from GMC students, who showcased traditional dances and songs that highlighted the district’s rich cultural diversity. Students and staff also participated in engaging games organized on campus, which added excitement and fostered camaraderie.

SSP Rajouri, Randeep Kumar; ADDC, Dr. Raj Kumar Thapa; ADC, Rajiv Khajuria; and other district officers were also present on the occasion.

The DC extended Diwali greetings to elder citizens in Rajouri town, sharing sweets and engaging in meaningful interactions with them.
