SRINAGAR: People’s Democratic Party President Mehbooba Mufti consoles the sad demise of of Nazir Wani, termed him as a man of immense courage, dignity, and compassion, who left this world early this morning following Fajr Namaz.
Nazir Wani passed away from a heart attack at his residence in Pulwama, surrounded by the quiet peace that had so often eluded him during his life.
MLA Pulwama Waheed Para while condoling his sad demise said that the Nazir Wani’s life was marked by resilience in the face of unimaginable hardship. He in his tweet term Nazir a magistrate by profession, who was unjustly imprisoned under the UAPA for two long years, a punishment for daring to speak truth to power.
Party leaders including general secretary and the other leaders in their condolence message, expressed deep grief over the loss. “Nazir Sahab was a shining example of quiet strength and integrity, a man who believed in justice and lived his life in service to those around him. His imprisonment was a grave injustice, and though he was ultimately acquitted, it came at a cost no one should have to bear. His passing is a loss not just for his family but for all those who believe in fairness and justice.”
Several other senior PDP leaders and members of the political community expressed their condolences, remembering Nazir Sahab’s selflessness and his tireless efforts to advocate for those wrongfully detained. Despite his personal struggles, he campaigned tirelessly during elections, not for personal gain but out of a deep sense of loyalty and purpose. He joined the PDP to champion the cause of the innocent, lending his voice to the voiceless.
