DC Rajouri conducts surprise late-night inspection at GMC Rajouri; Directs Hospital Administration to address gaps in patient care

RAJOURI: In a bid to ensure the effective functioning of healthcare services, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, paid a surprise late-night visit to Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri. The visit, aimed at reviewing the emergency services, maternal and child health care, and overall hospital operations, led to the identification of several gaps that require immediate action.

During his thorough end-to-end inspection, DC Rajouri closely examined the facilities being provided to patients and interacted with both staff and visitors to understand their concerns.

While acknowledging the hospital’s critical role in serving the population of Rajouri, Poonch, and Reasi districts, he stressed that government health services must be delivered efficiently and with compassion.

The DC inspected various wards and the emergency department, identifying areas where improvements are necessary. He emphasized the need for the hospital administration to focus on the gaps and directed swift action against any dereliction of duty by the staff.

Additionally, DC Rajouri highlighted the importance of maintaining accurate medical records and the timely issuance of essential medicines to patients.

The Medical Superintendent was directed to ensure the availability of doctors as per the roster and to implement a more efficient duty management system, especially in critical areas like the emergency ward, to avoid any disruption in services.
