NEW DELHI: Manipur Congress president K Meghachandra Singh has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a PMLA case.

The Congress, revealing this development on Monday, accused the Narendra Modi-led Central government of political vendetta, alleging that the summon was in retaliation for Meghachandra’s outspoken criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Manipur Chief Minister Biren Singh.

In a statement on X, Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh said, “K Meghachandra Singh, MLA and president of the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee, has been speaking out fearlessly and aggressively against the non-biological PM, the Home Minister, the Chief Minister of Manipur and the BJP. Today he has received summons from the ED. This is nothing but the politics of vendetta, vengeance, harassment and revenge.”
