DODA: With the Legislative Assembly Elections 2024 around the corner, the Election Authorities in Doda have intensified efforts to ensure maximum voter participation through an extensive Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign.

In line with the comprehensive action plan formulated by Nodal Officer SVEEP and AMF (Chief Education Officer) Parkash Lal Thapa, Pledge sessions were held today in schools of the District, with eligible students vowing to exercise the right to vote.

The SVEEP program aims to educate and inform voters about the electoral process, promote voter registration and encourage participation in the upcoming elections. The campaign will focus on increasing voter awareness, particularly among first time voters, women and marginalized communities.

As part of the SVEEP activities, the Election Authorities will organize a variety of events, including voter registration drives, awareness camps, Rallies, Drawing/Poster Making Competitions, Youth parliaments and interactive sessions. The campaign will also utilize social media platforms, local media, and other communication channels to reach out to the voters.

The District Election Officer, Harvinder Singh emphasized the importance of voter participation in the democratic process and encouraged all eligible citizens to register and exercise their right to vote.

With the SVEEP campaign in full swing, Doda is all set to witness a significant increase in voter engagement and participation in the upcoming Assembly Elections 2024.
