SAMBA: As part of the ongoing plantation drive “Ek Ped Maa K Naam, Ek Ped Shahidoon K Naam,” the District Administration Samba organized a significant plantation event at Veer Bhoomi Park. The drive aims to honor mothers and martyrs by planting trees in their names, fostering a greener and more sustainable environment.
Deputy Commissioner Samba, Abhishek Sharma, led the event, paying tribute to 1971 war hero martyr Arun Khetarpal at Veer Bhoomi Park. His homage was a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by our soldiers and the importance of remembering their contributions.
The event saw active participation from district officers, members of civil society, and numerous volunteers, all united in their commitment to the cause.
Addressing the gathering, the DC emphasized the importance of sustaining these efforts beyond the drive’s conclusion. He urged the community to continue planting trees and nurturing them, reinforcing the significance of environmental conservation and the legacy of our martyrs.
The plantation drive will continue until 15th August, ensuring extensive coverage and involvement from various community segments.
