Swachta Pakhwada Inaugural Ceremony held at  Mini Secretariat, Bandipora

BANDIPORA: The District Administration  Bandipora today launched the Swachhta Pakhwada campaign from lawns of Mini-Secretariat Bandipora marking the beginning of a fortnight dedicated to cleanliness and environmental sustainability across the district.

The campaign, commencing from August 1 to August 15, 2024, aims to reinforce the principles of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan.

The Inaugural ceremony at the Mini Secretariat Bandipora featured the administration of the Swachhta Pledge at Conference Hall of Mini-Secretariat, Bandipora. The pledge underscored the commitment to adopting cleanliness practices in all aspects of life.

Deputy Commissioner, Shakeel ul Rehman, along with Vice Chairperson DDC Kousar Shafeeq, flagged off 02 sanitation vehicles and a student rally from Mini Secretariat Bandipora which proceeded to Nishat Park for a cleanliness drive. 

A cleanliness drive led by the DC Shakeel ul Rehman was also conducted in the lawns of the Mini Secretariat with participation of senior officers of District Administration, District & Sectorial Officers and other officials from various line departments. 

In his address, Deputy Commissioner highlighted the Swachhta Pakhwada as a crucial component of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, emphasizing its transformative impact and the need for community involvement. He outlined the campaign’s activities, including community awareness programs, sanitation drives, plantation drives with the theme “Ek Ped Shahidoon ke Naam,” and cleanliness initiatives at tourist spots and public places.

The DC emphasized the participation of public and public representatives in Swachhta Pakhwada to ensure a cleaner and healthier environment. 

The inaugural ceremony was also  attended by ADDC Mohammad Ashraf Bhatt, ACD Irfan Bahadur, CPO Mohammad Maqbool, EO MC Bandipora Aijaz Ahmad, officers from District Administration and other concerned. 

Further, as part of Swachta Pakhwada, the Swachhta Pledge was administered  and cleanliness drives were also held in various Government Offices, Municipalities and  Educational Institutions across the district.
