DDC Chairperson, DC flags off Swachhta IEC Van from DC Office

UDHAMPUR: District Administration Udhampur organized an impressive programme to inaugurate the Swachhta Pakhwada campaign under theme “Shuchita Sangram wherein  District Development Council Chairperson Lal Chand was the chief guest and formally launched the fortnightly Swachhta Pakhwada campaign in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Saloni Rai at the Conference Hall DC Office Complex Udhampur.

The event was attended by ADDC Rajinder Singh, ADC Joginder Singh Jasrotia, CPO Mohd Iqbal, PO Poshan Subash Dogra, DDC Narsoo Subash Chander, district officers, former PRI members and Councillors, general public, students, and staff members of various educational institutions.

BDO Head Quarter, Udhampur Rashu Sharma welcomed all dignitaries and briefed the participants on the activities planned for the campaign. She highlighted that the fortnight-long initiative would focus on cleanliness programs and raising awareness about Swachhta.

While addressing the participants, the DDC Chairperson Lal Chand emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness not only in homes but also in drains, public places, including tourist spots, and other surroundings to foster a healthy society.

 He stressed the necessity of public cooperation for the success of the cleanliness mission and urged former Councillors and PRI members to motivate locals in their respective areas to participate actively and extend the campaign to every household.

Earlier, Deputy Commissioner Udhampur administered the swachhta pledge to the participants, who committed to keeping India neat and clean and dedicating time to cleanliness efforts. She underscored the significance of community participation in creating a cleaner and greener environment, emphasizing that every citizen has a duty to contribute to this common cause.

The DC stated that the aim of launching the Swachhta Pakhwada campaign is to promote public involvement in sanitation and sensitize the community about the importance of cleanliness.

Later, the DDC Chairperson and Deputy Commissioner flagged off the Swachhta IEC Van from the District Headquarters in Udhampur.
