DC Baramulla visits Boniyar, interacts with fire affected Shopkeepers & local residents

BARAMULLA: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa today visited Boniyar, where a devastating fire incident damaged 10 shops on the night of 22nd July, and conducted thorough assessment of the damage caused by the fire.

During his visit, the DC interacted with the affected shopkeepers and local residents, expressing deep sympathy for the affected families and assured them of every possible support from the district administration.

Local residents raised a demand for the establishment of a fire and emergency station in the vicinity to help in fire fighting measures in case of any prevalent emergencies.

The DC assured the community that a plan for setting up a fire station in the area has already been set in motion and the new fire station would be established in the near future to enhance their ability to respond promptly to such emergencies.

Minga Sherpa applauded and expressed his gratitude towards the fire fighters from fire and emergency department, policemen, local residents and all others for their efforts to bring fire under control.

He further urged the public to adhere to fire safety norms and to report any emergency situations to the fire and emergency department promptly.
