JAMMU: Mission Shakti SANKALP: Hub for Empowerment of Women Jammu Social Welfare Department organized an awareness session on women -centric provisions in Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita held at BTC Centre Khandwal, Jammu.
The programme was organised under the supervision of District Mission Coordinator Mission Shakti, Shagun Manchanda in which as many as 90 females participated.
The main focus of this awareness session was to generate awareness amongst females on the women centric provisions in Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita. Such training enables women to learn new laws for safety and protection and stay informed with emerging new law provisions and procedure like BNS (Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita), BNSS (Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita) and BSA (Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam).
The Resource Person, Advocate Meenu Padha explained about the new criminal laws and the replaced form of Indian Penal Code and also the importance of fundamental rights and duties for women. She also explained the POSCO Act and POSH Act.
The staff of HEW, BPM, NRLM Umeed and SHG members were present on the occasion.
