PANCHKULA: Around 40 schoolchildren were injured as a Haryana Roadways bus overturned near Pinjore in Panchkula district on Monday.
According to reports, the bus overturned near Naulata village.
The injured were admitted to the Pinjore hospital and the Sector 6 hospital in Panchkula.
A woman, who suffered critical injuries, was referred to the PGI, Chandigarh.
According to police, the accident was caused due to speeding by the driver.
The bus was also filled beyond capacity. Overloading and poor road condition have been attributed as additional reasons for the accident.
Kalka Congress MLA Pradeep Choudhary said an investigation had been initiated.
