NITI Aayog’s Sampoornta Abhiyan launched in ABP Block Marwah

KISHTWAR: The Sampoornta Abhiyan, being observed from July 4 to September 30 as part of the Aspirational Block Programme (ABP) under the aegis of the NITI Aayog, was launched here in far flung Marwah CD block on Thursday.

The initiative being carried out under the overall supervision of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Devansh Yadav, began on a high note.

An impressive inaugural event was organized by the District and Local Administration under the close guidance of Nodal Officer, Sampoornta Abhiyan (ACD) Phulail Singh here at GHSS Yourdu of Aspirational Block (AB) Marwah.   

Chief Planning Officer (CPO) Shahnawaz Bali, SDM Mohammad Ashraf, Consultant from NITI Aayog, block level officers of  RDD, Health, Education, ICDS, Agriculture & Allied sectors, besides the general public, and other stakeholders attended the inaugural function.

The inaugural ceremony started with the administration of Sampoornta pledge to the officers, officials and participants by the consultant from NITI Aayog.

During the event , the Officers inspected Sampoornata stalls,  erected by concerned departments at the venue disseminating  awareness among the masses about the Aspirational Block Programme and the saturation of  the various key performance indicators (KPIs) under Smpoornta Abhiyan to bridge the development gaps in the rural areas.

A mega marathon was also organized by the Health Department to inform the public about the campaign and aware masses about health sector initiatives, including the targets under the nutritional deficiencies among children and women and early detection of life threatening diseases.

A free medical and screening camp for hypertension and diabetes was organised during the programme at the Venue.

About 3000 Free Sanitary pads were distributed among the Adult girl students of GHSS Yourdu and other schools in spirit with the promotion of personal hygiene among girls under the KPI.

Officers and resource persons of NITI Aayog and the stakeholder departments organised performances to create awareness about the programme.

Also the Anganwadi workers ASHAs and SHG members were sensitized to the action plan to achieve saturation of KPIs.

The participants were given a detailed outline about the 3 month long programme, designed to ensure intensive and focused attainment of six key performance indicators across health, agriculture, social development, and nutrition in the aspirational block within three months.

At the inaugural event ACD Kishtwar, CPO Kishtwar and SDM Marwah urged the concerned departments, PRI members, and the public to coordinate and cooperate for 100 percent saturation of the six key performance indicators.

The CPO, ACD and SDM also visited various schools in the AB Marwah to assess their condition.

As part of the launch programme, a special gram sabha was organized to deliberate on the challenges, targets, and action plans to be pursued by all concerned and monitored at all levels.

A resolution was passed by the gram sabha, with the CPO , ACD Kishtwar and SDM Marwah and other concerned officials attending the event.

ACD –the Nodal Officer spoke about the ABP, emphasizing a three-tier model of convergence, collaboration, and competition. “Initiated by NITI Aayog, the campaign will focus on achieving saturation  of the selected indicators across targeted districts and blocks. By converging existing schemes, defining clear outcomes, and implementing constant monitoring, the Sampoornata Abhiyaan aims to bridge developmental gaps and bring about transformative changes, ensuring a brighter future for the nation’s aspirational districts and blocks,” he added.

The Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) under 5 broad socio-economic themes are Health & Nutrition, Education, Agriculture & Water Resources, Financial Inclusion, Skill Development and Infrastructure.”

He sought cooperation from the concerned departments/agencies and the public to achieve the set target of saturation by September 30.

The launch programme concluded with a coordination meeting of all block-level officials to outline the detailed action plan for effective evaluation and monitoring.
