DC Baramulla chairs Block Diwas at Goom Ahmadpora; listens issues/grievances

BARAMULLA: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa Wednesday chaired the proceedings of Block Diwas at Higher Secondary School Goom Ahmadpora.

The event brought together officers from all line departments, former Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs), and members of the public from the area. The Block Diwas served as a platform to address community grievances and assess local development needs.

Residents raised several issues during the Block Diwas including the dilapidated condition of the Hanjivera-Magam link road, concerns over the sale of sub-standard pesticides, urgent need for a Panchayat Ghar, relocation of a transformer from the premises of the Imam Barah, water contamination issues near the nallah due to mining and dumping sites, inadequate staffing at the Niyabat, and recent electricity bill hikes.

The DC attentively listened to all issues and directed concerned officers to address these grievances promptly. He emphasized the Block Diwas as an integral part of the administration’s efforts to ensure inclusive and responsive governance at the grassroots level.

The Programme was attended by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate Pattan, Chief Medical Officer, Assistant Commissioner Development, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat and other District heads of various departments.
