GANDERBAL: Rajbhasha Cell of Central University of Kashmir organised a one-day workshop on Preparation for the Parliamentary Sub Committee Report on Monday for the employees at the varsity’s Green Campus.
The programme was aimed to educate the employees in submitting the report in the official language Hindi. The employees have to submit the report to the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
While welcoming the participants, Dr. Sakina Akhter, Hindi Adhikari of the university, thanked Vice Chancellor Prof. A Ravinder Nath for his support and cooperation for the event. In her address, Dr. Sakina highlighted the achievements of the department like augmenting Hindi language among the teachers of the University.
Dean Legal Studies and Chief Proctor, Prof. Farooq Ahmed Mir, who was the chief guest on the occasion, presented the memento to the workshop expert, Jagdish Ram Pori, Director Rajbhasha, Ministry of Education, GoI.
Mir, while addressing the participants talked about the importance of this language and stressed upon the practical work in this regard. “We can’t ride a vehicle by merely reading a book and similarly we can’t master a language by just reading it. It comes with practice and when we make mistakes.” Prof. Mir also highlighted the similarities in Hindi and Urdu language.
The expert for the workshop, Jagdish Ram Pori, Director, Rajbhasha, impressed upon the faculty to participate in such events. He emphasized the role of faculty in teaching the language to the students and staff. He appreciated the efforts of the Hindi Adhikari and the rajbhasha cell of the varsity.
Finance officer of the varsity, Prof Mehraj ud Din Shah, while expressing his thoughts about the event, talked about the significance of Hindi language. “Despite being the official language of the Indian Union, people are struggling to speak or write Hindi in Kashmir”, he said. Prof Shah hailed the efforts of Rajbhasha Cell for promoting the Hindi language in varsity.
The event was attended by the faculty from various departments, officials of different sections of the varsity. The workshop ended with the vote of thanks by Deputy Registrar, Abdul Rashid Bhat.
