World No Tobacco Day: DDAC Bandipora organises Awareness rally

BANDIPORA: District Drug De-Addiction Centre (DDAC) Bandipora in collaboration with Department of Social Welfare Bandipora, Government Secondary School Bagh Bandipora and Implementing Agency JKSWM today organized an awareness rally at Bandipora under Community Peer Led Intervention (CPLI).

The rally aimed to emphasize the detrimental effects of tobacco and substance abuse on individuals’ health and well-being commenced from DDAC and proceeded via Bagh Bandipora, Harmukh Chowk and adjacent areas and finally concluded back at DDAC.

Headmistress, GHS, Bagh Bandipora on the occasion said that World No Tobacco Day serves as a poignant reminder of the urgent need to address the pervasive issue of tobacco and substance abuse. She emphasized collaborative initiatives to create a healthier and tobacco-free environment for all.

Manager, DDAC Bandipora while addressing the participants highlighted the multitude of health hazards associated with tobacco consumption. She underscored the urgent need for awareness and collective efforts to combat the issue of substance abuse within the community.

The event served as a platform to raise awareness about the risks posed by tobacco and other addictive substances.

Posters and pamphlets, meticulously designed to educate and inform, were distributed among the rally participants.

The rally garnered significant support from the community, with individuals from all walks of life coming together to pledge their commitment to a tobacco-free future.
