DDC Reasi assesses implementation of Healthcare Schemes, programs

Stressed on TB Mukt Reasi, reviews achievement under NTCP, NTEP, RBSK

REASI: District Development Commissioner Reasi Vishesh Mahajan today reviewed implementation of NTCP, NTEP, RBSK , besides general healthcare  scenario in the District.

At the outset, Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Ravinder, welcomed the attendees and provided an overview of the achievements recorded under different schemes/programs in the district.

District TB Officer for Reasi/Udhampur, Shweta Raina, Divisional Co-ordinator, Directorate of Health Services gave a detailed presentation on the NTEP program, complete with a PowerPoint presentation and discussion of key performance indicators. Later, DNO RBSK/School Health also gave a presentation on RBSK.

The meeting discussed various issues, including the need for presumptive TB testing, increasing TB notifications through more tests, enhancing diagnostic testing capabilities in Reasi district by engaging new True-NAT Mobile Medical Unit , 100% screening of IPD, RTI must be conducted and placing a strong emphasis on drug susceptibility testing for all TB patients. Additionally, bi-directional screening of patients with HIV, diabetes, tobacco use, smoking history, as well as individuals visiting counseling centers for de-addiction and workers in hotels, restaurants, and dhabhas was emphasized by DDC.

The meeting stressed the involvement of all District Officers in becoming “Ni-kshay mitra” and engaging public representatives and the education department in creating awareness to achieve TB-free villages and panchayats. DDC Mahajan urged the stakeholders to develop an action plan, enlisting cooperation from various sectors.

The meeting reiterated the commitment to make Reasi district TB-free by 2025, aligning with the National plan for a TB-free India, ahead of the global target of 2030.

The DDC Reasi directed Medical Fraternity to adopt a mission mode approach to meet the target under RBSK & rationalization of staff with  special focus  on block Mahore.

Besides, he stressed on screening adolescent girls/boys/ PW in line with the Anemia Mukt Bharat campaign and holding of special camps in far flung areas.

Furthermore, the chair also directed to cover the left out beneficiaries under PMJAY/SEHAT scheme & directed to devise a plan for the same.

The meeting decided to hold Special camps at DDC Office/SDM office Katra, Mahore, Dharmari & Tehsil office Pouni to benefit people.

The meeting further underscored the crucial role of the Social Welfare Department in the health sector, emphasizing broadening the provision of nutrition support to pregnant women.
