World Red Cross Day celebrated at Samba

SAMBA: The District Red Cross Committee Samba today organized a function at Samba Fort to celebrate World Red Cross Day.

 Deputy Commissioner (DC) Samba, Abhishek Sharma was the Chief Guest on the occasion.

The celebration centered on the theme, “Keeping humanity alive” and a session highlighting the importance of CPR as a life saving measure for the victims of cardiac arrest was also organised. it was followed by demonstration on steps of Adult CPR and Child CPR  including the management for choking in case of adults and children.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the World Red Cross Day is being observed every year with an aim to reinvent the passion of mutual help among the citizens. 

The DC stressed upon the concerned to intensify the efforts to conduct different welfare programmes including blood donation camps and ensure proper utilization of funds for the weaker sections of the society especially poor, destitute, orphan and widows.

He urged upon the participants to volunteer themselves for the Red Cross which is a best platform to serve the needy people. He also highlighted the need for motivation of the people for participation in the Red Cross activities and appreciated the volunteers for serving the people in need.

Among others, DSWO Samba, Mohammad Nawaz, Doctors, Volunteers of District Red Cross Committee; employees and other concerned were present in the function.
