DEO Bandipora reviews arrangements for Home Voting, Postal Voting

BANDIPORA: The District Election Officer (DEO) Bandipora, Shakeel ul Rehman on Monday reviewed arrangements for establishing Postal Voting Counter and Home Voting in a meeting held at Mini Secretariat, Bandipora.

On the occasion, Nodal Officer Postal Ballot, Mehraj Wani informed the meeting that in district Bandipora 319 voters have opted for Home Voting, including 203 senior citizens and 116 PWD voters.

It was revealed that in Gurez 04 voters in AC Gurez, 168 voters in AC Bandipora and 147 in AC Sumbal have opted for home voting.

It was given out that teams for home voting have been constituted to facilitate the senior citizens and PWD voters who have opted for home voting and material required has also been kept ready.

Reviewing the arrangements for Postal Voting Counter, the DEO was apprised that 1086 voters have opted for Postal Voting, and all necessary measures have been put in place to establish Postal Voting Counter at District Headquarter.

The DEO asked the concerned to adopt proper procedures as per guidelines of ECI for establishing Postal Voting Counters and facilitating Home Voting.

He urged the concerned to ensure that all necessary arrangements are in place well in advance, including logistical arrangements, staff, security measures, and communication strategies.

The DEO emphasized the importance of ensuring that all eligible voters who have opted for home voting are extended all facilities to cast their votes securely and conveniently.

ADC (Nodal Officer MCC) Umar Shafi Pandit, DyDEO Mohammad Rafeeq, ACR (ARO 15- Bandipora) Shabir Ahmad Wani, SDM (ARO 14-Sonawari) Aamir Choudhary, ACD (Nodal Officer EVM) Mumtaz Ahmad Pir, Election Nodal Officers, DySP Ahmad Shaafi and other concerned attended the meeting.
