DC Ramban visits land sinking site in village Parnote to assess damage

Interacts with affected families; Directs for immediate restoration of road, essential services

RAMBAN: Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary today visited Village Parnote to assess damage to houses due to sinking of land there. He interacted with the affected families and inquired about their needs. He assured them every possible help from district administration.

The DC was accompanied by ADC, Varunjeet Singh Charak, Tehsildar, Deep Kumar, Tehsildar S. Harvir Singh and various concerned officers.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the Tehsildar to process relief cases under SDRF and provide assistance to affected families for the damaged houses.

It was informed that of 50 houses in affected area, 30 suffered damage and the affected families were shifted to safer places.

The displaced people were given tents, blankets, utensils and other essential items as instant relief.

The DC assured locals that a team of experts from the Geological Survey would soon visit the site to ascertain the reasons behind the sinking of land.

The Deputy Commissioner said that restoration of essential services and road connectivity, besides ensuring immediate temporary provision of accommodation and ration to affected families is the priority of District Administration.

Responding swiftly to blockade on Ramban-Gool road at Parnote, the District Administration has opened the Sumber-Digdoal link road for light vehicles. This initiative would ensure continued road connectivity with NH-44 and essential/emergency supply to Sub Division, Gool.
