R&B Dept to launch 200 cr road macadamization project after MCC ends

SRINAGAR: The Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department in Kashmir said it will launch a comprehensive road macadamization project across the valley after the Model Code of Conduct in view of the Lok Sabha elections comes to an end.

Chief Engineer of the Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department, Kashmir, Sajad Ahmad Naqeeb, informed the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the ambitious project, with an estimated cost of 200 crore rupees, is scheduled to commence in May.

“This initiative aims to cover approximately 630 kilometres of roads spanning the entire Kashmir region,” he said.

Naqeeb expressed confidence that the implementation of this project would significantly improve road safety standards, ultimately saving lives.
