BANDIPORA: In view of ongoing Lok Sabha Elections 2024, District Election Officer (DEO) Bandipora, Shakeel ul Rehman today chaired a meeting of mobile service providers in his office chamber, here.
The meeting focused on ensuring robust communication infrastructure and uninterrupted mobile services during the electoral process.
The meeting discussed threadbare issues regarding Mobile network problems in some shadow polling stations of Gurez, besides discussions were also held to resolve the issues regarding the installation of mobile towers in Gurez.
The DEO, on the occasion, directed the concerned telecom operators to cover the uncovered areas of Gurez on priority for which NOCs have been issued.
He directed the mobile service providers to ensure uninterrupted internet connectivity during the election period for webcasting as per ECI Guidelines.
The DEO also directed Mobile Service Providers to fix the connectivity issues faced by toll-free No.1950, which is notified for complaint monitoring during elections.
He underscored the indispensable role of mobile services in facilitating democratic processes and urged all stakeholders to work diligently to uphold the reliability and accessibility of communication channels throughout the electoral cycle.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Mohammad Ashraf; Deputy District Election Officer, Mohammad Rafeeq Bhat; DySP DAR, Ahmad Shafi; Superintendent ITI and representatives of Mobile Service Providers and other concerned.
