Rajouri: Development of Village Patrara under SAGY scheme reviewed

DC calls for time-bound completion of all components

RAJOURI: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Om Prakash Bhagat today chaired a meeting to review the progress of developmental projects in the village Patrara, under the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY).

Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY) was launched on 11th October, 2014 with the aim to translate the comprehensive vision of Mahatma Gandhi about an ideal Indian village into a reality, keeping in view the present context.

Under SAGY, each Member of Parliament adopts a Gram Panchayat and guides its holistic progress with focus on social development at par with infrastructure. The ‘Adarsh Grams’ are to become schools of local development and governance, inspiring other Gram Panchayats.

 A comprehensive assessment revealed significant milestones achieved in various sectors. Notably, all works pertaining to the Rural Development Department under SAGY have been successfully completed. The water supply scheme at Patrara is near completion, with only the mechanical component of the borewell pending. Furthermore, the construction of the health subcentre has also been completed, marking a crucial stride towards enhancing healthcare accessibility.

Review of the Progress in Power sector revealed that the installation of a transformer has also been completed as per the schedule. Additionally, the detailed project report on lift irrigation scheme at Mawa Patrara has been submitted to the Chief Office for further deliberation and action.

During the review meeting, the Deputy Commissioner Om Prakash Bhagat underscored the importance of dedication among officers, emphasizing seamless coordination to ensure the resounding success of SAGY.

The deliberations of the meeting held today reaffirm the collective commitment towards realizing the overarching objectives of SAGY. Through sustained efforts and collaborative spirit, the village of Patrara is poised to emerge as a Model village of rural development and inclusive growth.
