One-day Awareness programme on PM Vishwakarma scheme held at Anantnag

ANANTNAG: The District Administration Anantnag, in collaboration with the Ministry of Micro Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) and Skill Development, District Industries Centre today organized a one-day awareness program on the transformative PM Vishwakarma scheme.

The event, held at Dak Bunglow Khanabal Anantnag brought together key stakeholders, officials, and beneficiaries to amplify awareness and harness the scheme’s potential for the betterment of the community.

The awareness programme witnessed the participation of various dignitaries including Chief Planning Officer, General Manager District Industries, Principal ITI, members of the District Implementation Committee, Panchayat Secretaries, ITI Master Trainers and other stakeholders including beneficiaries of the scheme.

Deputy Director, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship highlighted the key features and advantages of the PM Vishwakarma, and emphasized the importance of implementing the scheme effectively to cover eligible beneficiaries across the district in all identified trades.

He also urged the officers and officials of concerned departments to adopt a people-friendly approach to strengthen local job opportunities at the grassroots level.

He said that the focal point of the program was to illuminate the attendees on the key features and advantages of the PM Vishwakarma scheme. He also underscored the significance of a streamlined and effective implementation process to extend the scheme’s benefits to eligible beneficiaries across the district in all identified trades.

The Deputy Director informed the gathering that the PM Vishwakarma scheme covers 18 categories of artisans. After registration and verification by authorities, it renders Vishwakarmas eligible for an array of benefits which include a toolkit valued at Rs. 15,000 and collateral-free loans of up to Rs. 3 lakh at an exceptionally low-interest rate of 5%.

The event concluded with the distribution of certificates among beneficiaries who successfully completed basic training courses.
