Mission Vatsalya Kupwara organizes CBP on JJ ACT 2015 at Environmental Hall, Handwara

KUPWARA: District Child Protection Unit, Mission Vatsalya Kupwara today organised training cum capacity building programme (CBP) on Juvenile Justice (care and protection) Act 2015, POCSO Act 2012, Adoption Regulations, and child rights at Environmental Hall Handwara.

DDC Rajwar, Mir Suliaman was chief guest on the occasion.

District Child Protection Officer Kupwara, Hidaitullah Mir; Chairperson Child Welfare Committee Kupwara, Abdul Rashid Malik; Members CWC Member Juvenile Justice Board Kupwara, District child protection Unit officials, PLVs from DLSA Kupwara, ICDS workers, prosecution wing JJB Kupwara, Chairperson empowering widows, orphans and Disable people’s trust J&K Asha workers, Teachers from education department, PRIs, ULBs, JPU HANDWARA and social welfare officials attended the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, DDC Rajwar Mir Suliaman appreciated the concerned officers and institutions for their concerted efforts in child care protection in the district. He emphasized the need for proper implementation of different legislations of the Government including Juvenile Justice Act to ensure the protection of child rights.

During the programme, various speakers highlighted the crucial role and responsibilities of stakeholders in ensuring the effective implementation of these Acts and encouraged active participation.

Shayista Muzaffar, Social Worker Kupwara explained the importance of the programme and gave a detailed description of working mechanism regarding child welfare committee, DCPU and JJB at the district level and detailed discussion were held on the rescue and rehabilitation process for various categories of vulnerabilities such as child Labour, child begging, missing child and runaway child, as per JJ Act 2015.

CWC Chairperson Ab Rashid Malik, CWC Member M.Rafiq Shah, Mohammad Shafi Mir Chairperson People’s Trust JK, Gh Hassan JPU Handwara, Resource Person Advocate Vaseem Aslam, PLV Tawseef Raja, Protection Officer, Gh Mohammad Lone, LCPO Amoos Bhat, Mudaseer Qureshi CWC Member, Protection officer Tawseef Maqbool Bhat highlighted various issues related to child rights.

The certificates of participation and mementos were also distributed to acknowledge the active involvement of the participants in the programme.
