Say J&K will witness such infrastructural development that people will forget to visit Singapore; “Today J&K is shining and that light is reaching every corner of the country”

JAMMU: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that Article 370 was the biggest hinderance in the development of Jammu and Kashmir and BJP-led government demolished that wall and led the Union Territory on the path of development.

Addressing a massive public rally at MA stadium in Jammu, PM Modi, said that such infrastructure will be built in Jammu and Kashmir that people will forget to visit Singapore and it will benefit every household in the Union Territory.

He said that today J&K is shining and this light has reached every corner of the country and people have realised that J&K is heading on a new path.

He said that Article 370 was the biggest hindrance in the development of J&K, but BJP government demolished that wall and put Jammu and Kashmir on developmental path. “I have asked the delegates of BJP that this time BJP should get 370 seats and NDA 400 plus seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls,” he said.

He also said that over the last decades J&K has been victim of dynastic politics and family rule, but BJP government demolished that rule and gave new direction to Jammu and Kashmir.

“Now the youth of Jammu and Kashmir have blown trumpet against dynastic politics, corruption and appeasement politics. It is our government that included Pahari, Valmiki, Gadda and other backward communities in the Scheduled Tribe and Scheduled Caste list,” he said.

He also said that this is the first time in the history of Jammu and Kashmir that any government reached at the door steps of the people. “It’s Modi’s guarantee that in coming years he will realise the dreams of the last 70 years of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.”

PM Modi said that there were times when only bad news would come from J&K, like bomb blasts, terror attacks, killings, but today J&K is heading on a developmental path and now people can hear only good about Jammu and Kashmir. “For past many decades Jammu and Kashmir has been a victim of family-centric politics, and especially youth have been at the receiving end.”

He further said that for higher and professional education, the youth of Jammu and Kashmir had to go outside but today all these facilities are now available in Jammu and Kashmir only. “Now today, Jammu has both IIT and IIM and this is why people say this is Modi’s guarantee.”

He added that nearly 50 colleges have been established in Jammu and Kashmir and over 50,000 children are getting eduction in these colleges and most beneficiaries of this are girls, as they can get eduction just outside their homes.

“Today J&K has two AIIMS institutes, one of which I inaugurated today. For life threatening diseases, people would visit Delhi for treatment, but I had given a guarantee of AIIMS in Jammu and today you have AIIMS in Jammu. Work on AIIMS Awantipora in Kashmir is also going on at full pace and that will soon also be inaugurated,” he said.

PM Modi said that today J&K got its first electric train which will help reduce pollution. “When Vande Bharat Trains were introduced, we also chose J&K a route for these trains, which will go a long way to help the people.”
