DC Srinagar chairs District Task Force(DTF) Committee Meet; finalizes action plan for IPPI-2024

Over 1.90 lakh children to get Polio Vaccine, 668 booths set up in District

SRINAGAR:– In  order to finalize the Action Plan and arrangements for smooth conduct of Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization Programme (IPPI)-2024, a meeting of District Task Force(DTF) Committee for  was today held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner(DC) Srinagar, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat here at Meeting Hall of the DC Office Complex.

At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner took a first hand appraisal about the arrangements being put in place by the line Departments for smooth conduct of upcoming Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization Programme (IPPI), 2024-25

On the occasion, the DC was apprised that over 1.90 lakh children of the District in the age group of 0-5 years will be administered polio vaccines on March 03, 2024 across the District for which adequate arrangements have been put in place.

The DC was informed that Aaganwari/Asha Workers shall visit door to door on March 3rd and March 4th to cover the left out children in the age group of 0-5 years for the Immunization process.

The DC was informed that 668 vaccination booths have been established in five Medical zones of the District with deployment of about 3000 Officials, besides, 19 Transit vaccination booths operated by CMO/Dy CMO, Block and Zone level have been set up at JVC SKIMS, Bemina, G B Panth, LD & SMHS Hospitals, CMO Office, DC Office, Directorate of Health Services, Batamaloo Bus Stand, Ganta Ghar, Dy CMO Office, Soura, Jehangir Chowk, JLNM Hospital and PHC Khanyar to facilitate the people.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that it is the collective responsibility of all stakeholders to achieve the fixed targets to keep the District polio free. He stressed on wide publicity of the program through different media platforms so that no child is left out especially in the far-flung areas of the District.

The DC stressed on effective implementation of Pulse Polio Immunization Programme in order to curb the polio from the District and safeguard our future generations from this disease. He directed the CMO to set up special immunization sites at prominent places including Airport, Nomadic Populations, visitors etc.

Besides, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Syed Ahmad Kataria, the meeting was attended by Programme Officer ICDS, Mushtaq Ahmad Rather, Chief Medical Officer, Dr Tahir, Sajad, Dy SP, Syed Sleet, Deputy CMO, Dr Nighat, District Health Officer, Dr Rubeena, Dy CEO, Anjum Raja and all Zonal Medical Officers/ Block Medical Officer, District Immunization Office, and other concerned.
