DC Ramban inspects landslide site on Gandhri Road, asks to intensify restoration work

RAMBAN: Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary today inspected the site of a massive landslide on the Kanga-Bathni road. As the area lacks vehicular access, the Deputy Commissioner traveled on foot to assess the extent of the damage.

Accompanied by a team of senior officers, including ADC Harbans Sharam, ACR  S. Harpal Singh, ACD Shreenath Suman, Executive Engineer Abhishek Gupta, Executive Engineer PMGSY Arvind Kumar, DFO Batote Abinav Romitra, Tehsildar Deep Kumar and  other officials, the Deputy Commissioner conducted a comprehensive inspection of the affected area.

Discussions were held during the inspection with senior officers, public representatives, including DDC Councillor Shamim Akther and prominent citizens, to evaluate the situation and strategize immediate restoration of road connectivity.

The Deputy Commissioner was briefed about the deployment of adequate manpower and machinery, including 4 excavators and other equipment, as per his directive, to clear the landslides.

Following the deliberations, the Deputy Commissioner directed the Executive Engineer of PMGSY to commence round-the-clock efforts to ensure the road’s traffic-worthiness at the earliest. Emphasizing the importance of seamless connectivity between Gandhari block and the district headquarters, he underscored the priority of public convenience and safety.
