Union Minister Ramdas Athawale joins inauguration through virtual mode
RAMBAN: In a significant step towards tackling drug addiction, the Ramban District Hospital inaugurated an Addiction Treatment Facility (ATF) Centre today, as part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan.
The virtual inauguration ceremony was graced by Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Ramdas Athawale.
Union Minister Ramdas Athawale stressed the importance of ATF centres in combating drug abuse and achieving a drug-free nation. He emphasized the need for public participation in this crucial endeavor.
Welcoming the facility, the Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Baseer-Ul- Haq Chaudhary said “Inauguration of the Addiction Treatment Facility marks a pivotal moment in our collective fight against drug addiction. It underscores our unwavering commitment to prioritize the health and well-being of our community. With the establishment of this facility, we not only provide treatment but also extend a hand of compassion and support to those battling addiction.”
The objective of the ATF is to provide dedicated treatment facilities to individuals struggling with drug addiction. Under the guidance of AIIMS Delhi, the ATF aims to serve as a beacon of hope for those in need.
Speaking on the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Lal reiterated the government’s commitment to eradicate drug abuse and implementing comprehensive rehabilitation policies. He called upon families, especially parents, to support youth in avoiding drugs and emphasized the crucial role of familial support in rehabilitation.
The ceremony concluded with the administration of the Nasha Mukti pledge, symbolizing a collective commitment towards a drug-free society.
Those attending the function include Additional Deputy Commissioner Ramban Harbans Lal Sharma, GM DIC, Ravinder Anand, CMO Kamal Ji Zadoo, Dy. SP Om Prakash, District Social Welfare Officer, Rahul Gupta, MS, DH Dr. Virendar Trishal and Dr. Mohd Rafi Wani.
