SAMBA: The District Administration Samba conducted the Weekly Block Diwas/Grievances Redressal Camp at Samba Fort, here today under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner, Abhishek Sharma.
The session commenced with a review of the progress report from the previous Block Diwas, setting the tone for addressing community concerns.
The Local residents articulated their pressing demands, including the need for enhanced road connectivity and water supply at Karad Panchayat. Specific requests such as road connectivity from Sumb to Karad, bridge repairs at Sumb, and the restoration of old water bodies were passionately voiced. Furthermore, issues like inadequate teaching staff in government schools and challenges related to stray animals and bovine smuggling were brought to light.
Responding promptly to the grievances, the DC engaged with the attendees and directed the concerned departments to expedite the resolution of identified issues. Several matters were addressed on-site by respective officers, reflecting the administration’s commitment to efficient grievance redressal.
Attention was also given to the operational efficacy of Anganwadi Centres, with a focus on ensuring timely payments to Anganwadi workers. Emphasizing strict compliance with animal welfare rules, the DC underscored the importance of upholding ethical standards in animal care.
Furthermore, the DC instructed district officers gave a brief description of schemes of their respective departments. This included initiatives such as the registration process for E-Shram cards, pension camps, PM Vishwakarma Yojana and HADP, with efforts made to educate citizens on the benefits of these schemes.
In addressing the critical issue of drug abuse, the DC urged individuals struggling with addiction to seek professional assistance from psychiatrists, while also appealing to parents to prioritize psychiatric consultations for their affected children.
