DC inspects snow clearance operation in Kishtwar town

KISHTWAR: Following an overnight snowfall in the district, the Deputy Commissioner Dr. Devansh Yadav toured different areas of Kishtwar town to inspect the ongoing snow-clearance operation and assess the arrangements put in place to address challenges arising from the prevailing weather conditions.

Accompanied by Tehsildar Kishtwar, Muneeb Umar and officers from relevant departments, the DC was briefed about the action plans to ensure swift handling of potential challenges.

During the inspection, the DC visited crucial essential services installations of mechanical engineering, power, water besides medical care institutions and inspected the preparedness to handle any emergency situation in the backdrop of inclement weather conditions.

DC was informed that snow clearance machinery has been activated across the district.

Dr. Devansh Yadav urged all departments to put in best efforts to ensure quick and efficient resolution of challenges, preventing interruptions in services and facilitating immediate restoration where necessary. All departments assured the DC that they are prepared to meet any challenge, ensuring the quickest response with minimal disruption to essential services.

Interacting with the field staff, the DC emphasized the importance of their presence on the ground until the end of inclement weather. He directed officers to thoroughly implement action plans to ensure timely and coordinated resolution of problems.

Deputy Commissioner also appealed people to avoid unnecessary travel especially on Kishtwar-Chatroo-Sinthan-Anantnag: Kishtwar-Paddar road besides staying away from Rivers/Nallahs and exercise caution in avalanche-prone areas.
