MGNREGA Convergence Plan 2024-25 discussed at Kishtwar

DC stresses on close coordination among departments for effective Plan implementation  

KISHTWAR: District Development Commissioner, Kishtwar, Dr Devansh Yadav today chaired a meeting to discuss the formulation of convergence plan under MGNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act) with the schemes of other departments for the Financial year 2024-25.

The meeting was attended by the PO, ICDS Dr Rishi Kumar Sharma, Assistant Commissioner Panchayats/PO IWMP Kishtwar, Zakir Hussain Wani, Assistant Commissioner Development, Kishtwar Manoj Kumar, Chief Education Officer Kishtwar, Prahlad Bhagat, Chief Horticulture Officer, Sajjid Mustafa, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Dr Jaffar Arafat besides the representatives of other line departments.

At the outset, ACD highlighted the features, modes, methods and permissible activities to be undertaken  under convergence with MGNREGA.

This was followed by a detailed deliberation by the District Development Commissioner. He discussed the specifications and focus areas which shall be entertained while formulating the convergence plan for the district.

The chair directed ACD  to prepare a comprehensive plan in consultation with officers of Agriculture, Fisheries, Horticulture, IWMP, Forest, ICDS and JJM and  exchange the technical expertise to propose the best convergence plan for the district.

The chair emphasised to take works like construction of Kitchen sheds, AWC, Plantation, Desilting of khuls, Fish ponds etc under convergence mode and directed the line departments to work together in a coordinated manner to ensure the development of a purposeful convergence plan in the district.

The meeting concluded with a resolve to work towards achieving the objectives and targets set for the financial year 2024-25.
