Progress Assessment: DC Pulwama reviews AIIMS Awantipora Projects

PULWAMA: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Dr. Basharat Qayoom today chaired a comprehensive review meeting aimed at evaluating the progress of ongoing projects at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Awantipora. 

The meeting focused on ensuring the timely completion and seamless execution of this prestigious healthcare infrastructure.

The review meeting saw participation from officials representing various Government departments, including health and engineering. Additionally, key stakeholders from executing agencies responsible for the construction and development of the AIIMS infrastructure were also present. The primary objective was to address challenges and streamline progress towards the completion of the project.

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Awantipora provided a detailed overview of the project’s status through a presentation. 

The DC underscored the profound significance of the AIIMS project for Pulwama and emphasized its potential to elevate healthcare services in the region. He stressed the imperative to expedite construction while maintaining the highest standards of quality.

Key discussions during the meeting revolved around establishing timelines for completing different phases of the project. DC urged officials to adhere strictly to the set deadlines, directing concerned departments to expedite processes and ensure smooth progress in infrastructure development.

Post the review meeting, DC conducted an onsite inspection of the AIIMS facilities to assess ongoing construction and development activities. He engaged with engineers and workers from the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) and TKC, involved in the project to evaluate ground realities and address immediate requirements.

During his visit, DC also directed the Public Health Engineering department(Jal Shakti), to swiftly address issues related to source exploitation, ensuring a sustainable water supply for the AIIMS facility and surrounding areas.

Recognizing the critical importance of timely completion, Dr Basharat underscored the necessity for synchronized efforts among all stakeholders. He emphasized effective coordination among various departments and agencies involved in AIIMS Awantipora’s development.

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Awantipora promises to be a state-of-the-art healthcare facility offering specialized medical services, research, and education across various disciplines. It’s completion will ensure delivery of advanced healthcare benefits to not only residents of Pulwama but the entire UT.
