Calls for United efforts, coordination for positive change
JAMMU: District Development Commissioner Sachin Kumar Vaishya today urged for greater societal cooperation in tackling the drug menace, during a public grievance redressal camp at the office of Sub Divisional Magistrate Jammu North.
The camp saw detailed discussions on drug eradication, with SHO Janipur actively participating in the sensitive talks.
DDC emphasised the need for a collaborative approach – “While the administration is committed to crack down on drug peddlers and creating awareness, public support is critical to make the society truly drug-free.”
Beyond this crucial topic, the camp addressed a range of public concerns. SDM Nitish Rajora and Tehsildar Aman Kumara Anand were encouraged by the DDC to maintain regular dialogue with residents, ensuring quick and effective resolution of people’s issues.
Matters related to roads, drinking water facilities and traffic management were brought to light, along with suggestions for improvement. Former Municipal Corporators also lent their voices to highlight significant public needs.
Sachin Kumar Vaishya reiterated the importance of close collaboration between citizens and the administration. “Change can sometimes be met with initial resistance, but united we can overcome any obstacle,” he stated. “Every individual, whether from the administration or the public, can become a torchbearer for positive change.”
Residents from Mishriwala, Durga Nagar, Muthi and other areas actively participated, raising concerns about revenue matters, roads and infrastructure and urban development.
The camp was attended by Chief Medical Officer Dr Harbaksh Singh, Chief Planning Officer Uttam Singh, Chief Education Officer Jagdeep Padha, Executive Engineers and other district officers.
