SRINAGAR: PDP President Mehbooba Mufti Saturday demanded thorough investigation into the civilian killings occured in Poonch District of Jammu region.

She appealed Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to intervene into the matter and bring facts to the public.
Addressing media persons here in Srinagar, Mehbooba said it is unfortunate that three civilians were allegedly killed by security forces in Poonch who earlier were beaten up mercilessly and then their bodies were thrown out on roads.

“First security forces beat up unarmed civilian mercilessly and then their bodies were thrown out on road. This incident needs indepth probe to bring truth to fore. Those involved should be brought to justice and we hope LG led government will intervene and ensure justice to the victim families,” Mehbooba said.
She added till the probe gets complete the government must grant compensation to the families of slain and injured.

“They are poor families who have lost their near ones. Also many are battling lives at hospitals. I appeal LG government to provide 50 lac compensation to those who got killed where as 5 lac to injured one’s. This will at least realise the perpetrators of crime that such actions are intolerable,” she said.
