DC Poonch reviews functioning of FCS&CA Department

POONCH: To review the functioning of Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Department, Deputy Commissioner, Poonch Yasin M. Choudhary today convened a meeting of officers, field functionaries and private FPS Dealers of the district here at Dak Bunglow Poonch.

At the onset of the meeting, Waheed Ahmed, Assistant Director FCS&CA Department briefed the Deputy Commissioner about the working of the department, status of stock, supply distribution, grievances redressal mechanism and other relevant matters.

The DC examined the process of ration distribution, emphasising its significance for the public. The DC reviewed the status of all categories of beneficiaries such as AAY, PHH, NPHH and Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. He also directed for covering all eligible beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana .

The representative of FPS Dealers demanded revision of Carriage charges, shifting of Godown near district court and others.

The DC made it clear to the field staff that the conversion/modification in any Ration card shall be made to those households only who fulfill the conditions as per the policy and instructions issued by the Government from time to time. “The concerned officials on receipt of such applications shall proceed only after conducting thorough verification”, he said. 

Further, the DC directed the concerned to ensure advance stocking of supplies in the snow bound areas so that the people do not suffer due to blocking of Roads due to snowfall. He also assured that a circular regarding the revision of Carriage charges shall be issued soon. He directed FPS dealers to ensure the registration of labourers with the Labour Department and also enroll them under Social Security Schemes.

Tehsil Supply Officers were directed to ensure fair practices and equitable distribution to the Ration Card holders within their respective areas of jurisdiction. They were further instructed to ensure no bifurcation of ration take place.

Representatives of Fair Price shops from Poonch , Mandi , Surankote, Buffliaz , Mankote , Balakote , Mendhar attended the meeting and raised their concerns.
