DLTFC meeting under JKREGP held at Kupwara

KUPWARA: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, the ADDC Kupwara, Altaf Ahmad Khan today chaired a meeting of the District Level Task Force Committee (DLTFC) to assess the loan cases under Jammu & Kashmir Rural Employment Generation Programme (JKREGP).

At the outset, the District Coordinator, KVIB Kupwara, submitted proposals before the District Level Task Force Committee for consideration. The Committee screened and scrutinized all 20 beneficiaries who appeared and were interviewed by the Committee.  Out of which 15 cases were approved for sponsorship under different sectors.

Speaking on the occasion, the ADDC stressed upon the line Departments and Banks to bring maximum unemployed youth under the ambit of Government schemes launched to generate maximum employment avenues in the district. He also stressed on the Bankers to ensure speedy disposal of these cases so that the aspiring unemployed youth are in a position to establish their income generating units without any difficulties.

The ADDC urged the unemployed youth to come forward and avail the benefits of flagship schemes and programmes to earn livelihood with dignity and honour.

The JKREGP scheme is being implemented by Jammu & Kashmir Khadi and Village Industries Board (J&K KVIB) to harness the potential and enthusiasm of youth for establishment of productive enterprise in the Micro Industrial sector and to create employment opportunities. The scheme is also aimed to develop the entrepreneurial skills among the rural unemployed youth of the District through setting up of new self-employment ventures/projects/village industries enterprises.

The meeting was attended by General Manager DIC, Sameer Ahmad; LDM, Mehboob Illahi;  District Coordinator, KVIB,  JKB Cluster Head, Regional Manager Gramin Bank,  besides, representatives of other banks and departments.
